BYO is the easiest way to cut waste at the festival. It only works if we all remember to bring our own.

We’ll be at the Zero Waste Ithaca table all four days in the sustainability area. Stop by and show us your BYO item and get free stickers, prizes, and more.

Weekend rewind: We had a wonderful turnout for a special Makerspace workshop on Saturday as professional waste and recycling expert Wren led makers through transforming reclaimed and deconstructed tent material into useful new products or crafts.
All the tent material was rescued from the landfill after being damaged and left behind at Finger Lakes Grass Roots Festival. Projects included various bags, and a rain poncho!

Feeling creative and wanting to channel that into something for spooky season!? Come join our next Community Crafting event on Friday the 27th from 6-8pm. It happens to be the first night of the Apple Harvest Festival, stop by even just for a little bit 🍎👻🍂

Our idea for this get together is to create masks and costumes that can be worn for Halloween! We plan to have another event (announcing soon) where we can continue working on what we started, create something new, another costume or decorations.

More details on the kinds of masks and available supplies will be posted on our stories leading up to the event. The stories will be pinned to the Community Craft highlight.

The building we are hosting in is across the street from the State Theater, there will be a sign on the door and you will have to buzz in. We'll be on the second floor, where another sign will be posted.

We hope to see you there 👹💀🎃🤖🐸🐺

What a time to be creative!
Wren, @studio.wren, and I were able to quickly put together something we feel so passionate about, sharing a creative space!

The time spent last night included a demonstration on monotype printing by Wren, an opportunity to try it out yourself, and then I gave an introduction to anthotypes, made some of the photosensitive liquid and folks were able to coat paper or fabric as a take home experiment.

I truly appreciate everyone who joined in on the inaugural Community Craft night! Your participation and interest inspire me daily and I cannot wait to put together more events with Wren and others!
