Did you notice there isn't actually any lipsticks involved in my favourite everyday natural lip colour line up? 💋 I often wear a good lip liner to define my lip shape and blend it into my lips and little (no harsh lines allowed) and then top my lips with something nourishing. Forward always looks good. Been thinking about this a lot. Not everything needs looking back on. Aren’t some things best left where they belong? Instead of living in the past? I love how @drdawnmussallem talks about ‘radical acceptance’ and I think that’s when we really move on and forward. I certainly had to get there, and bloody quickly, after my cancer diagnosis. Beauty at any age. Ad/pr As I’ve got older my makeup tastes have changed. For years Estée Lauder doublewear was my go to foundation, but these days I go for much lighter base products. It’s refreshing to see more and more brands appearing that are aimed at more mature faces. Typically these brands have lighter formulas that sit better on older skin, without accentuating lines and wrinkles. What’s even more pleasing is these brands don’t look “old”. A few years ago I came across a brand aimed at mature women, and according to them “women of a certain age” should only wear matte eyeshadow and shouldn’t use an eyeliner! I challenged the brand, and suggested they should be making eyeliners and shimmer shadows that work on older skin. They completely disagreed with me, but guess what? I’ve looked at the brand again and they now sell eyeliners and cream shadows with a satin finish 🤔 Wear whatever you want, no matter how old you are, there are no rules. I have never tried any procedures - just always cleansed and moisturised with an SPF. I just want to make the most of what I have as I age . @studio10makeup is lovely for mature skin with just the right amount of coverage . The blush / lipstick gives a soft glowy look . Today I’m trying @primeprometics eyeliner and mascara that I have also been kindly gifted . The eyeliner in Wood, is a deep brown and has gone on very smoothly . The brown mascara didn’t clump and hopefully will last all day . I’ve always loved make up and never go out without it but I just want to look a bit fresher - never as though I’ve tried too hard .
