Since our very first issue, we’ve resisted the temptation to expand beyond our traditional two cover features. It’s always a tough call. We regularly get flooded with so many standout submissions that choosing just two feels almost impossible. While our staff frequently debates the top spots, our consultants cast the final votes. It’s a competitive process, but we do it to protect what makes a cover feature so special in the first place.

Also as a reminder, one of our criteria before being considered for a cover is that we receive a minimum of 6 images in your submission so that we can at least publish 6 pages for a cover feature. We’ve seen really great sets turned in with only 5 images and we thought this could have been a cover feature, but we just can’t justify a cover feature spread with less than 6 pages. So please keep that in mind if your goal is land one of our coveted cover features!
