On the decks and in conversation with @vtkay.au. From Zimbabwe to Naarm, VTKAY’s approach to music is rooted in curiosity — digging deeper, finding new sounds and giving them space to be heard. She’s carving out her own place in Melbourne’s DJ scene, one groove at a time. We asked her what the collective noun for a group of DJs should be. Her answer? “A mischief of DJs.” Put enough DJs in one room and somebody is touching something they weren’t supposed to, increasing the BPM or going, “Wait, wait, WAIT… I have the perfect track for this.” That is pure mischief.
