⭐⭐ Patrick Shanahan wins joint First Prize ⭐⭐ 'Lally - Artist & Writer, 2026' is a large photographic portrait captured with a large-format 5"x4" plate camera. A graduate the Royal College of Art, Shanahan was elected a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists in 2025. This piece is part of Shanahan's decades-long 'Face in Time' project. www.shanahanphotos.com The Artist speaks of his work: "Lally MacBeth is an artist, writer & curator based in Cornwall. She founded The Folk Archive in 2020 to help researchers, artists and writers immerse themselves in folk customs and lore. She also co-founded the Stone Club, a collective formed to travel to and celebrate standing stones. Her book, ‘The Lost Folk’ was published in 2025 and looks at how folklore functions in daily life. I photographed Lally at home wearing a dress designed and made by her mother Penny MacBeth that merges many customs and traditions, from the Cornish Tartan to designs influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement. Lally is surrounded by other objects that are dear to her including a portrait painted by her mother. This portrait of Lally is part of a long-term portraiture project called 'Face In Time' which explores the social and cultural aspects of modern living, and the aesthetic nature of photographic portraiture itself." Some unseen pictures of ‘The Salty Crisp’ to celebrate and announce I was a finalist for the Homiens Art Prize, Spring 2026 🥺🫂🍻 —— @studio44ad ‘The Salty Crisp’, 6th - 14th February 2025 The creation of this pub wouldn’t have been possible without the steadfast collaboration of my family, who play a pivotal role in bringing my artistic vision to life. Their unwavering support ensures that my disability doesn’t hinder my creative process. Thanks to their help, my work whether it’s crafting furniture, up cycling bar stools, or sewing custom clothing and accessories my practice remains accessible and fulfilling. For our family, The Star and Garter ( @star_garter ), an 18th-century flint and brick country pub located in the picturesque village of East Dean, West Sussex, isn’t merely a pub, it’s a cornerstone of our shared history and cherished memories and an integral part of our family’s story for generations. Located near the historic church where countless family milestones have unfolded, the pub holds a special place in our hearts. From weddings celebrated with pre-reception drinks to wakes that brought us together in remembrance, it has been a constant backdrop to our family’s story. Regular visits to the churchyard to tend to family graves, replacing flowers and maintaining the grounds, are often followed by a quiet moment at The Star and Garter across the road. A pint or a coffee here bridges the past and the present, preserving a tradition that keeps us connected. —— Also a massive thank you to all the alcohol sponsors 🍻 and crisp sponsor really appreciate all of the support @wiperandtrue @bathbrewhouse @kingsmeadstbottle @thatcherscider @showeringscider @theciderbox @wolf_wine @savoursmiths 📸: 1 & 3 @lillyamber_art 2 & 4 @ashley_cerrino_studio_gallery

Here’s some bits from the studio. Organza wedding dress silk, dipped in wax, rolled into tiny scrolls and covered in pencilled thoughts. These were quite satisfying to make. These are offcuts and experiments from my Art of Unbinding collection, one of which (Andromeda Unbinding), has been shortlisted for the Bath Open Prize 2026. #andromedaunbinding #femaleResilience #conceptualsculpture
