My recent interior inspiration saves. Filling walls with art is always a winner for me.

Fifteen years ago we were all mad about the New Forest. The M3 roared with Londoners escaping to that weird and otherworldly landscape of heather and bracken, bogs and marshes, ancient woods and wild ponies. @limewoodhotel was always the place to stay, perhaps nipping down the road to Brokenhurst for lunch at the OG @the_pig_hotels. It was a stone-cold classic weekender.

Things shift and change though. Those same couples, all these years on, tend to have a bit of a crew in tow. So it’s great timing that Lime Wood has opened Forest House in its grounds, a five-bedroom number tricked out by @studio_atkinson with all the hotel thrills and spills present and correct, but just a little more space for everyone to spread out. And the real siren call is the fact that @angelacooking can pop over from the restaurant and cook for you. Can you imagine finding Angela Harnett at the kitchen table, rolling fresh pasta for supper? Like being in an episode of Saturday Morning Kitchen but 100 times better. Race you there.

We often think about our homes in terms of how they look, but I think we underestimate how much they affect how we feel and how easily our days run.

None of these things will remove the stress from your life, but small changes to your surroundings can take away some of the unnecessary friction.

Hope this helps

For bathrooms in 2026 it's been all about standing out from the crowd with decorative details taking center stage: from skirted and scalloped vanities to playful hue-drenching.

Susie Atkinson has been part of the Lime Wood story for a while now, so asking her to take on the house felt like a very natural next chapter.

The brief? Give Forest House its own personality, while making sure it still felt unmistakably part of Lime Wood.

Over to you, Susie…

"Our approach was to create an interior that felt entirely at home in the New Forest, while remaining a natural extension of Lime Wood”, Susie says. “The result is a relaxed, layered house that feels as though it has evolved over time - somewhere guests can pour a drink, kick off their shoes and immediately feel at home.”

Forest House is now open for bookings.

We’re excited to finally share Forest House @limewoodhotel , a complete transformation of an existing home in the New Forest.

As Principal Contractor, we delivered the reconfiguration of the existing layout, new ensuites and kitchen, full electrical, plumbing and heating upgrades, and new decoration throughout.

Our team also created technical designs and handcrafted the bespoke joinery for the project, from @studio_atkinson beautiful design, including the kitchen, wall panelling and feature bookcases.

It’s been a fantastic project to bring together so many of our skills, from construction and project delivery through to bespoke joinery and finishing, and great to work with @limewoodhotel again.

We’ve been seeing a definite upswing in border/trim details in the last few months from several of our designers, but this definitely isn’t your grandmother’s borders from back in the day 😂

Finished up Friday with our second trim installation this week, each completely different and each unique and intentional to the spaces.

For this laundry room, the designer chose a simple, 2” striped border from @studio_atkinson to wrap all doors windows, and along the crown molding and baseboards. While it matched the casing paint perfectly, what made it truly stand out was the white walls. So crisp 💙

Forest House has been designed to feel like a cherished countryside home. Somewhere everyone can come together, but with enough space to find a quiet corner when you want one.

There’s a kitchen made for gathering, relaxed living and dining spaces, five individually designed bedrooms and doors that lead you straight out into the forest.

Forget the red thread, yellow seems to be having a moment. It’s coming up a lot in conversations with clients, and I’ve had plenty of requests for it in my colour and fabric consultancies. And I can understand why; from soft, buttery shades to deeper, yolky tones or something bright and zesty, yellow is incredibly versatile and always brings a little joy to a room.

Here are a few yellow moments from past projects for inspiration.
