Marcel Tröger: The Reward Lies in Friction, in Cultivating Differences Landezine talks to Marcel Tröger of studio erde (@studio_erde) about polyphonic landscapes, the emerging aesthetics of the Anthropocene, and the need for landscape architects to work at a territorial scale. From ecological processes to the politics of water, he discusses how design can reveal hidden relationships and open space for dialogue. Marcel Tröger runs studio erde, a practice based in Berlin and Zurich, with Violeta Burckhardt. He received the LILA 2022 Award for Young Professionals, and his other awards include the Schinkel Prize and the Lenné Prize. He teaches at HafenCity University Hamburg, where he is writing a PhD, developed alongside the practice, on principles for an art of building in the Anthropocene. In German, Erde means soil, earth and planet. The practice works across that range of scales, bodies and materials, bringing different kinds of expertise together to give each site a precise response. https://landezine.com/marcel-troger-the-reward-lies-in-friction-in-cultivating-differences/ #LandscapeArchitecture #LandscapeArchitects #PublicSpace #LandscapeDesign #ArchitectesPaysagistes #ArchitectureDePaysage #ArchitettiDelPaesaggio #ArchitetturaDelPaesaggio #ArquitectosPaisajistas #ArquitecturaDelPaisaje #ArquitecturaPaisajista #ArquitetosPaisagistas #ArquiteturaDePaisagem #DiseñoDePaisaje #DiseñoUrbano #EnvironmentalDesign #EspacesPublics #EspacesVerts #EspaciosPúblicos #EspaciosVerdes #GreenInfrastructure #InfraestructuraVerde #Landschaftsarchitekten #Landschaftsarchitektur #outdoorspaces

𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 is an ongoing research project by ReRouting (Berlin) and the Walking Artists Network (London) that proposes intergenerational artistic programming as a method of inclusion for caregivers and children. Walking is our main curatorial framework; through which we encompasses a range of (overlooked) mobilities and modes of movement. This coming weekend 11-13.09 project leads Clementine Butler-Gallie and Clare Qualmann @clarequalmann will be presenting Walking with Children as part of WALKING - Thinking in Motion symposium organised by @land_and_environmental_art and @studio_erde. Followed by a collective performance of @clarequalmann’s Perambulator score through the streets of Basel. Find out more about the projects on our websites.
