Lost for words again…

The pictures don’t do last night justice. Despite Storm Austen, people turned up in their droves, over the course of the evening nearly 70 of you!

As a result we are heading closer towards nearly £2,000 worth of art sales for our exceptional artists involved in STRATUM.

Thank you, to everyone involved, everyone who turned up and keeps showing up. I will forever be grateful for this community, you really do make the world a better place.

Tomorrow is our last day, we will be open 11am-5pm and if you haven’t see the show yet…I promise you will not want to miss this one 🫶

Day two of STRATUM art exhibition @fishingquartergallery and I’m blown away (nearly literally 💨) by the response so far.

Despite some pretty damp and wintery conditions, we have welcomed some amazing people through the doors, sold nearly £500 worth of art so far, and we aren’t even halfway through.

Turns out I am pretty good at selling other people’s art! And I just adore it, the little buzz I feel when I get to send a message to one of these incredible artists to say their work has found a new home is the absolute best.

The feedback on the show has been so brilliant, this show is thought provoking, strong, beautiful, humorous and so much more, that is why it is so important to keep art accessible to both the artist and the customer - even just to see it, imagine who we might inspire.

If you haven’t managed to pop in yet, we will be open every day until Sunday 11am - 5pm, and I promise it won’t disappoint.

Lots of red dots already, sunbathing giant jaspers, beautiful conversations and more. We cannot wait to welcome you 🌝

Don’t be fooled, I did not spend the day in weird positions on the gallery floor, or sat on my 🍑 drinking coffee…

Instead - 20 incredible artists came together to fill the @fishingquartergallery to the brim with some of the most breathtakingly beautiful works of art, and I did in fact…do some work 🤣

I don’t want to give anything away just yet, so here is a very small selection of BTS photos. Tomorrow we open officially at 11am when I will be able to truly capture the magical transformation of this space, better yet, come and see it for yourself, we will will open daily 11am-5pm.

Another really wonderful Beau-Events yesterday thanks to each and every artist who exhibited.

I say it time and time again, but it really is so important to acknowledge, this is not just an art & makers market, this is a collective of resilient, talented, like minded people putting their stamp on Brightons art scene.

When we all come together at a Beau-Event…it’s like magic. The calibre of work, the process behind the art, the willingness to show up, the vulnerability of our expression. We are a community with work that exceeds customers expectations, with something new, vibrant and different to share at every single event.

I couldn’t do it without you consistently showing up, battling against the challenges in our industry with a smile, and refusing to give up.

STRATUM

A contemporary art exhibition celebrating 20 independent artists, coming to the @fishingquartergallery in October. Curated by @beaubottletops & @iheartpopart_

STRATUM - literal meaning ‘a distinct layer of rock or sediment stacked between other layers, you can often see different strata exposed in cliffs’

In the context of our exhibition, we are exploring physical layers within our artworks, and the idea of uncovering hidden depths beneath the surface. Celebrating our raw processes as artists, building on each layer physically and metaphorically until we feel ready to put it out into the world. Human resilience, foundations, exposure and so much more.

This is an incredible selection of artists. We hope you will join us in discovering what lies within.
