This one was a fun one. @numerohommemagazine, shot by @studioakrans in a suburb of Paris. The location for this shoot was a big, big warehouse that was used to store old World War 2 uniforms. With all the helmets, equipment, medals etc that goes with it. Even a Jeep. It was a huge place with endless rows of rags and boxes and boots and piles. And I’ve always, since I was little, been just so fascinated by this time period. So in between shots, I would disappeared and just go exploring.
Most times a crew member had to come and locate me somewhere ... I think they got a little bit annoyed with it in the end, but I just couldn’t help myself.
And thankfully I don’t think the pictures suffered.
In my opinion this story came out really, really nice. It’s probably one of my more favorite editorials that I’ve ever did.

After the shoot was done I got permission to jump into one of the German uniforms, helmet, fake grenades in my belt and everything. I stood up really straight and had one of the assistant snap a few pics, which I then send to my agent - requesting that he would “pay a little more attention to which editorials he books me for”. He almost had a heart attack 🥰

@hermes. Photographed in a Parisian café by @studioakrans. For this one (sadly not pictured here) they had decided to bring a real live horse into the café.
I have worked with horses on set several times and there almost always comes a moment when they don’t feel the reflector screens, lights and commotion anymore.
Predictably one of the beautiful old glass doors was completely shattered by a single kick. No humans or animals got hurt though …

From my noughties collection, this is the autograph of the American supermodel Jessica Miller ( @jessicamiller )
.
Born in Westerville, Ohio, ‘Jessica Caroline Miller’ entered modelling as a teenager and was quickly signed to IMG Models, where her combination of sculptural bone structure, cool minimalism and editorial versatility made her one of the defining faces of the noughties. Her breakthrough came in 2002–03, when she became a favourite of Steven Meisel, appearing repeatedly in Vogue Italia and winning the Model of the Year award at the International Photographer Awards in 2003. Her career was reignited recently as one of the latest wave of ‘legacy models’ being embraced by high fashion, following the likes of Karolin Wolter, Liisa Winkler and Laura Ponte ….and the rest is herstory! 💐
.
