Another coffee catch-up turned into a drawing session with @studiodialex ☕️🫶🏼

Sir @alexlivans isn’t just the artist of the circle but also chef and barista as well. I call to get some coffee together and next minute he is making one at home. Any minute the question will pop-up into our conversation, “let’s draw something?” And the answer is never a no. Love seeing how he translates his subjects on paper, any medium. While I struggle to get the shapes and proportions right (that blank sheet which only has a rough sketch of subject is mine).

Never a dull coffee catch-up with him 🫶🏼

The photo I was using as a reference/practice material or for learning purpose is by @maximovdima ! Love his shots, the way he captures his subjects.

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.🤔

Still Life in Charcoal with @studiodialex and 4 others 🫶🏼

The workshop was so fun, I had never worked with charcoal before. I’m still not sure how much I like that as a medium to work with but there were few characteristics of it that I kinda liked. I was the snail of the class😂 everyone finished but I kept drawing because I was adding tons of layers of charcoal on my sheet before I started the final layer of values and by then everyone was done with the piece.

But I think I may not have tried charcoal for a bit more longer as a medium if it wasn’t for @studiodialex session.

Waiting for the next one and hoping I can make it. This was the kind of weekend I like.
