You don’t need sexual attraction to belong. 💜

Ace Week starts today, 25 October, and runs until 31 October.

Asexual people experience little or no sexual attraction. Across the ace spectrum, experiences of attraction, romance and intimacy vary. There is no single way to be ace.

Understanding starts with listening. Believe people when they share their identity, respect their boundaries and make room for ace voices in our LGBTQIA+ community.

At Queerly, belonging includes you. Whether you’re ace, questioning or here to learn.

Swipe to learn. Save for later. Share to help understanding grow.

Nobody really tells you how to make queer friends as an adult.

You might want more queer people in your life and still feel nervous walking into a room on your own. Especially when it looks like everyone else already knows each other.

Friendships often take a few hellos, a second coffee and someone saying, “Want to join us again?”

At Queerly, we want to help make those connections possible through personal stories, shared experiences and opportunities to come together.

Send this to someone you’d like to get to know better. Maybe it’s your invitation for that coffee. 🌈

You don’t have to carry it alone. 🤍

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we want to remind everyone of something important: Your mental health matters. Your feelings matter. And you matter.

Mental health difficulties do not discriminate. Regardless of your identity, sexuality, background or circumstances, everyone deserves compassion, understanding and access to support.

Sometimes, the people who seem the happiest are fighting battles we know nothing about. Sometimes, the strongest thing we can do is admit that we’re struggling.

And sometimes, a simple conversation can make a difference.

How can we support each other? 🫂

🤍 Check in. Ask your friends, family, partners and colleagues how they are really feeling. And take time to listen.

🤍 Notice the signs. Withdrawal, hopelessness or sudden changes in behaviour can indicate someone is struggling. Not everyone shows visible signs.

🤍 Listen without judgement. You don’t always need to have answers. Sometimes, being present is enough.

🤍 Don’t be afraid to ask. If you’re concerned someone may be thinking about suicide, ask them directly and compassionately.

🤍 Offer support. Help them find professional care, accompany them to an appointment or simply remind them they don’t have to face everything alone.

🤍 Keep showing up. Support doesn’t end after one conversation. A small message, a phone call or a thoughtful gesture can mean more than you realise.
Please remember:

You are not a burden.
You are not alone.
You deserve to be heard.
You deserve support.
And asking for help is never a sign of weakness.

Mental health matters today, tomorrow and every day.

Save this post. Share these contacts. Check on someone you love. And don’t forget to check on yourself, too. 🤍
