The Church of the Holy Spirit, my new single from the upcoming album Stream of Hope, available now on all digital platforms!

On one of those hot summer days in 2021, while exploring the charming tourist town of Magog in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, I came across Cherry River Distillery @cherryriver.ca . What fascinated me was discovering that it was housed in a former Anglican church — a place once dedicated to worship and spirituality that had found an entirely different purpose.

That contrast stayed with me and eventually became one of the inspirations behind both the music and spoken word of this piece.

I’ve always been fascinated by how a single image or experience can stay with us for years and unexpectedly find its way into something we create.

But the piece goes beyond that particular experience. It also draws on my journey as an immigrant, my observations of a different culture through the eyes of an outsider, and the many encounters and experiences that have shaped my perspective over the years.

Through music and spoken word, I wanted to bring these impressions together while leaving room for listeners to discover their own meanings within the story.
