Loved working on the hair & makeup for a very special exhibition film dedicated to Dr Brendan O’Regan — one of Ireland’s great visionaries and the man behind the world’s first Duty Free at Shannon Airport!

The beautiful @shaunaoshea stepped into the role wearing a stunning replica 1960s @aerlingus uniform and hat, beautifully created by the incredibly talented stylist Roisin Lennon. @studiofeasa_
I recreated the classic 1960s hair and makeup look to bring the era to life, with Shauna’s lovely sister @ella.oshea assisting me throughout the day 🤍
Such a fabulous team to work with @bigo_agency at the @shannon_aviation_museum

Feeling grateful that my hunger for the darkness and to explain it is coming back.
In the last 3 years, the will to be apart of anything was lost.
The cage of melancholia and the acts to escape it, an eternal numbness that consumed every vein and blood vessel, every fleeting thought, every heavy notion, didn’t win.

She is still here.
I have always been obsessed with trying to understand why I feel like this.
Everything that is needed is here.
Why this incompleteness?

A pain that makes disappearing the only way.
A heaviness one shouldn’t burden others with.
And then there is the big Ocean we must not discuss.

This weekend I remembered to create.
To dance.
To laugh.

Feelings coming back. Nice 👌🙈
My songs of longing and the Otherside are what fuels this creativity.
I look forward to sharing with you.

Got a few pieces off the walls yesterday (well… only the ones I could actually reach!). Then I headed over to the home of some of the most creative souls in Galway @studiofeasa_ to chat about the London show next month. Somewhere between tea and ideas, we got really excited about the thought of using hanging display frames—not the kind the paintings will live in forever, but a kind of 'zusammen hängen' kind of show. It feels like the show is growing little by little, chat by chat, and that’s pretty exciting.

In Episode 25 of the Shnug podcast we speak to Aine O’Brein. Hailing from Kilfenora in County Clare, Aine has always had a lust for the creative arts. She is comfortable with wearing the all the hats, including Performance Artist, Singer, Musician, Actress, Song Writer, Curator, Artistic director, voice over Artist.

Aine’s first love was music, playing in a myriad of different bands in her early years. She then spent four years studying Theatre in Dublin’s Bull Alley and her training here would go on to inform all her artistic pursuits, as she performed at home and abroad with variety of different productions and troupes.

Recently she was involved with INVOCATION OF THE UNSEEN a work commissioned by @126gallery which referenced previous work with the HERSTORY Art Gallery show. She is also currently recoding her debut album with her band, AWNYA.

Another of Aine’s current projects is the KILFENORA ROAD SHOW. A travelling show of Actors, Singers, Dancers, Musicians and Theatre producers, that brings tradition and connection back to our communities. Traditionally informed and contemporarily explored.

Also shout out to little Bridgeen, making her podcast debut as well.
