AT MEDINA | OCTOBER 2026

Inspiration doesn’t always happen within the four walls of a studio.

Sometimes it comes from an afternoon spent in nature, a conversation with another artist, gathering around a table, or simply making time to create without expectation.

This October, we’re exploring the ways our surroundings, experiences, and connections shape our creative practices.

From exhibitions and afternoons outdoors to shared studio time, workshops, and our fall harvest gathering, we’ve put together a month of opportunities to slow down, find inspiration, and connect with one another.

At Medina, we believe that building a creative life is just as much about the people we surround ourselves with and the experiences we share as it is about the work we make.

We hope you’ll join us for something this month.

OPEN CALL — Applications are open for our Resident Artist Program.

Your creative practice the deserves space, light, and support needed to grow.

The Medina Artist Residency is an ongoing, studio-based program for artists seeking dedicated workspace, greater consistency, and a creative community in which their work can expand.

Residents receive a private or shared workspace within our historic San Diego Art Haus, with room to keep materials, leave work in progress, and return to their practice without having to begin again each day.

Residency also includes access to the wider Medina community — our Member Lounge and coworking spaces, community gatherings, workshops, and select exhibition, event, and visibility opportunities.

This is for visual artists, photographers, designers, and creative entrepreneurs who are actively developing their work and are ready to give their practice more space, structure, and devotion.

Applications are now open for private and shared studio spaces, with flexible start dates available between November 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027.

Apply through the link in our bio or comment RESIDENCY and we’ll send you the details. 🤍

A few things we know to be chic here at Medina, and quite honestly differentiate us from what you may know about the art world.

Welcome to the community that’s going to break that barrier infront of you, and celebrate your next level as an artist.

We’re happy you’re here. 💛

@merakispaces.co hosted part three of their four part “impressions” series and it did not disappoint.

meraki spaces hosts a live jazz and art event in the historic dunaway building in pacific beach, san diego. this fully-improvisational experience in art, light, and sound is home to live painters, jazz musicians, djs, projection mappers, and guests for one night. and what seemingly sounds like disparate melodies blends into one with the help of silent headphones.

you have one more opportunity this year to catch the “impressions” event this friday, december 19th. whether you want to socialize or simply witness the magic of live artistry, meraki spaces has something for you.

I genuinely went into this month thinking it was going to be “slow” and “chill” and instead it’s been giving Elation. Elegance. Exaltation. All from God. Thank you God. Amen.
