The first day of autumn has arrived.

The light softens, the air shifts, and the season brings a welcome change of pace.

Here’s to gathering close, creating warmth, and making more time for what matters most🍁🍂🍁

PS - this image of from my camera roll, it’s not AI🤦🏻‍♀️

After ten years I can confidently say I have no clue what the future has in store for us. Even the best of guesses has always been a near miss. But it really doesn’t matter. I know everything is going to be amazing as long you’re by my side. Ride or die, 10 years in and a lifetime on the horizon.

There’s been a lot of new faces around here lately, so we thought we’d reintroduce ourselves 👋🏼

We’re Jess + Blake — the husband and wife behind Studio JL Home Shop. We’ve been married almost 10 years and have always shared a love for creating, collecting, designing, and building a life that feels cozy and meaningful.

We’re both creatives and entrepreneurs at heart, and when we opened the brick-and-mortar in 2025, we decided to shift away from client design projects and focus fully on curating, sourcing, and designing for the shop. Honestly, it’s been such a welcomed transition getting to build something that feels completely our own. ✨

We live here in the slow and beautiful Santa Ynez Valley with our two kiddos, and when we’re not at the shop, we’re cooking away (Jess), surfing (Blake), hanging with the kids & our chickens, or chattin’ it up with friends over coffee or a good bottle of wine. Definitely homebodies at heart though!

Another fun fact: we both love a good denim tuxedo 🤌🏼 We actually showed up to this shoot both wearing denim on denim, brown boots, and belts without planning it. I guess when you live and work together long enough, you start blending into the same person a little bit 🙃

Anyways — whether you’ve been here since the pop-up
days or are new to this corner of the internet, we’re really glad you’re here 💛

One year of doors open 🤎

We opened our brick + mortar on April 26th last year, not entirely knowing what the year would hold—only that it felt deeply aligned with who we are and what we wanted to build. What unfolded has been a year of learning, growing, building, and leaning fully into something that feels so authentically us.

From first-time visitors to our most loyal regulars, to those who stop in while traveling through—we are endlessly grateful for every kind word, every conversation, every bit of support that has carried us through this first year.

✨To celebrate our 1st anniversary, we’re hosting a storewide anniversary sale:
April 24th–30th
15% off everything
Select pieces marked down up to 30%

We can’t wait to welcome you in and celebrate this milestone together. Thank you for being part of our story! Just getting started 🥲

xx Blake and Jess
