Colorful, whimsical, joyful and creative. Emily + Reid’s wedding was all of those things, but more than anything, it was unforgettable.

Set at Emily’s family home along the Weber River, the day was filled with bright summer color, playful details and spaces designed to bring people together. From cocktails and intimate gathering areas to the sailcloth tent, custom dance floor and celebration that followed, every part of the evening felt personal to Emily + Reid and the place that means so much to their family.

A pretty special one from start to finish.

Designing a wedding at a private residence gives us the opportunity to create an entire experience around a setting that already exists.

For Emily and Reid, we worked with the natural landscape of Emily’s family property along the Weber River and layered in a bright, colorful summer palette that carried throughout the celebration.

Cocktail hour included smaller gathering spaces tucked throughout the property, comfortable seating, shade and multiple bars where guests could enjoy cocktails and appetizers before dinner. From there, guests transitioned into the sailcloth tent where the color, tabletop details and custom dance floor created a more elevated reception experience.

I loved the balance of this design. It felt colorful and polished, but still completely at home within the relaxed, natural setting of the property.

On the 50th anniversary of his parents’ wedding, Trip married the love of his life, Natalie, at St. Paul College Club. The two met in law school seven years ago, and despite the serious nature of their profession, they wanted their wedding day to be laid-back, reflecting their go-with-the-flow personalities.
Drawing inspiration from the venue’s colorful pops of pink and blue décor, the aesthetic for Natalie and Trip’s day was described as “classic vintage with a kitschy twist.” Pink bows along the main staircase set the tone for a playful affair. The indoor ceremony space served as a versatile blank slate. Romantic layers of pink silk fabric were fashioned into a retro backdrop. Opting to balance the cheeky pops of color, white hydrangeas, calla lilies and lush foliage in artistic sculptural arrangements to create a unique altar.
The evening amplified the undeniable thread of fun woven throughout the wedding day. Laughter floated through the air as Natalie and Trip shared a meal with their loved ones before dancing the night away dressed in pink feather boas and sunglasses.

The final day of Vidya & Andrew’s epic wedding weekend ended with a true Night at the Museum ✨

Designing this celebration was especially meaningful. Our couple envisioned something surreal, whimsical, dreamy, and ethereal—an experience that felt like stepping into another world. Set among the iconic halls of the museum, guests were immersed in layers of soft textures, glowing candlelight, and unexpected moments of wonder around every corner.

Guests explored the immersive Pikachu exhibit, adding a playful touch to the evening, before gathering for one final unforgettable moment—a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky.

A celebration where art, culture, imagination, and love came together to create pure magic. 💫

Some events are more than beautiful—they tell a story.

For Vidya and Andrew’s Hindu ceremony at the Chicago History Museum, every detail was designed to honor family heritage and tradition. Inspired by the bride’s mother’s hometown in India, guests were welcomed with a curated Indian bazaar before the ceremony began, creating an immersive cultural experience from the moment they arrived.

Thoughtful touches like fresh coconuts, banana leaf plates, and the sounds of live tabla music during the ceremony brought a sense of home and tradition to the celebration. Guests also enjoyed an incredible lunch curated by Michelin-starred chefs @chefsanchit & @chefisahil of @naduchicago , beautifully served by the wonderful Meaghan and the team from @fftchicago

This design was truly a labor of love—rooted in storytelling, culture, and the beautiful traditions that have shaped generations. It was an honor to help create an experience that reflected not only Vidya and Andrew’s love story, but the legacy of the family that came before them.
