𝕊𝕀ℙ + 𝕊ℍ𝕆ℙ #inOregon — @bar_noto_pdx light pours in, wines pour, people move about.

Part of Studio Noto in the Pearl District, this aperitivo bar is improv jazz reincarnate—vintage pieces, clothing, jewelry, art, and an in-house collection all side by side by side.

Enjoy.

“Everyone told me Portland would slow me down. They meant it as a warning I think.

Los Angeles gave me all of it. I’m not ungrateful.
But gratitude is not the same as complete.

Portland entered through a side door, which is the only way anything important enters.” - @glorianoto

Gloria Noto is the founder of @noto_botanics and @studionoto.world and wine bar owner @bar_noto_pdx where we were lucky enough to host our It’s Okay to Try 004 launch party. A Detroit native who lived fully in LA but now between Portland and Los Angeles, we asked them to write about the in between, the lost and found between all cities they call home. A creative director and sometimes-writer, they spend their time between LA, Puglia, and Portland. Read more about their practice at studionoto.substack.com.

Read the essay that makes me cry every time I read it in our issue, in the mail, and out now. Portland, it will land on stands at @chessclub.art at @princecoffeepdx, @francesmayshop, and @bar_noto_pdx today 💞
