Before becoming a designer, Honolulu-based Shaolin Low took over her mother's real-estate staging company-although the pair never actually worked together. "I think we knew from the jump that it would be two captains and no crew!" Low jokes.

Our kitchen walkthrough for our Olina Street Project 🥳 Clearly “love, favorite, obsessed” are words I use when I’m so excited about something 😂

This client was on a budget, and the kitchen was our main focus, to make it bigger and functional for her family. Mission accomplished.

What do you think?

It’s currently storming here, and while I love a good rainy day, it just makes me want to lay in bed and watch a movie 😂

So here’s a swipe through of our Olina Street project - before and afters - for all of you who are pushing through the rain and getting work done, or laying in bed, you do you boo 🥳

I love all the details and functionality of our Lilipuna Road kitchen!

The marble countertops will always be a favorite moment in my mind. Hunting for them and then being a part of a surprise/christmas morning 🥰

We shot this project months after the clients had been living there and to see the space being loved and utilized how we imagined, just makes me so happy ❤️

As we gear up to shoot TWO new projects this week (eeeee!!!!!!), it has me feeling so incredibly grateful for the work we get to do and the clients we get to meet.

Within the first few minutes of meeting this client, I wanted her as a mentor. A woman with incredible style, an entrepreneurial spirit and a great eye for design.

This was such a beautiful example of working with someone who knows exactly what they want, but trusts me implicitly to create the overall vision, while she lived abroad.

Hope you enjoy the before and after as much as I do 🥰

I’ve been BUSTING at the seams to share our #cleanbeautyproject with all of you! While we always try to be conscious about the items we source, this was the first client who made that a priority.

From the paint to the upholstery, to the sustainably sourced wood, this project was all about being clean, conscious and mindful of the impact our furnishings can have on our health ❤️

Stay tuned for more!

It’s been a day 😅 and on days like today I like to imagine myself hanging out in a living room just like this one. Where the upholstery is comfy, the lighting is perfect and everything just brings a smile to my face.

Meanwhile, I write this caption as I’m sitting in my own living room with a kid painting her nails on the rug (will definitely get paint on it I’m sure), muddy dogs jumping on the sofa for pets and a husband banging around in the kitchen. See, designers, they’re just like us 😂

In other news, let me know if you like these videos so it encourages me to make more, since I’m also our social media person and I need validation 🥰

Happy Earth Day! We try our best to be mindful with the choices we are making in our designs so when we were looking to have these custom pieces built, we knew the @albiziaproject would be a perfect fit. The projects mission is to remove the invasive Albizia trees and plant native species, while also repurposing the Albizia.

Albizia in its purest form is a reddish wood, so I recommend either painting (which we did for both coffee tables with a local artist) or white washing (which we did for the daybeds and game table).

You can also watch our experience with the Albizia project in our pilot episode Home in Hawaii @streamonmax @magnolianetwork.
