In a light-filled Williamsburg loft, @studiosofiabeas treats home as an evolving design laboratory, bringing together the warmth of Mexican modernism with the raw openness of Brooklyn’s industrial architecture. Conceived as both a residence and a working studio, the apartment unfolds through an easy balance of custom pieces, vintage furniture, contemporary art and quietly expressive materials. Soft woods and muted surfaces are punctuated by moments of color—a pink-tiled bathroom among them—while generous built-ins and carefully composed furniture give structure to the loft’s expansive proportions. Rather than smoothing away the building’s industrial character, the intervention works with it, creating a home that feels personal, experimental and comfortably unresolved; a space in which living and designing remain closely intertwined.

The Williamsburg loft of designer @studiosofiabeas and artist @mariomarionavarro for Oct @archdigest written by @sean_santiago and styled by @studio.stories

A playful and impactful space with surprising moments of color. A particular favorite is the @mnjaekim headboard paired with metal sconces by @butrome . I love when designers own spaces feel comfortable, but quietly experimental.

A study in contrast and character. Designer Sofia Beas plays with juxtaposition, layering colour and texture to make the space feel effortless yet intentional.

Came through this designer while reading an issue of the Elle decor magazine where the bold red kitchen caught my eye and led me to explore her projects. Focused on furniture this was her first major solo project, the renovation of a six-floor townhouse in downtown Manhattan.
