Quiet Structures by ykoon

Second piece reveal: strata shelf

The strata shelf explores the idea of layering through a sculptural composition of shelves and stacked wooden cylinders. Balancing vertical and horizontal elements, the design combines functionality with a strong architectural presence.

Designed as a modular system, the strata shelf can be adapted to different spaces and configurations, either as a freestanding piece or tension-mounted between floor and ceiling.

Presented during DESIGN ⎜ DIALOGUE at 3daysofdesign in collaboration with Ark Journal.

MEET THE EXHIBITOR BADAFF 2026: @studiotimsomers designs and creates furniture and objects that combine wood, art and craftsmanship. His work plays with form, function and imagination — never too rigid, always with a touch of playfulness. Each design showcases the natural power and versatility of wood: a living material that invites discovery, touch and use.
