It’s that time of the year again. Autumn leaves, wind, and if you’re in Holland: shit loads of rain. Time to brighten up your day with the latest windsurf stories, wrapped in a shiny cover featuring Arthur Arutkin, shot by the inimitable John Carter on Mauritius.

Apart from Arthur and co ripping it up on the new Duotone boards and sails, we’ve got the GunSails crew at Lac Monteynard, the Dutch iQFoil posse talking about their campaigns for Paris 2024, and freestyle world champ Yentel Caers about ’being retired now, and working later’.

On a personal note, I finally faced my fear of forward looping. In real life, and on paper, obviously. With a little help of sensei Flo Jung I pulled that trigger, and though it wasn’t always a pretty sight, it was totally worth it. Or as Flo put it: ’To be really ecstatic about landing a new move, the setbacks are as important as the success itself.’ Cheers to that!

While we’re experiencing the highest temperatures of Europe at the moment here in Holland (eating lots of ice cream, yet never enough!) Motion #1 hit the shelves. A cool issue full of exciting stories that should keep everyone occupied while melting away!

Out now: Motion #2 2022 with curly gem Sarah-Quita Offringa as guest editor! The idea of making a mag with SQO had been on my mind for quite some time, and this year we finally got this show on the road. A trip to Aruba and countless FaceTimes later we have a beaut in our hands. Featuring big interviews with Sarah-Quita and photographer John 'JC' Carter, profiles of the future generation of windsurfers, a guide to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao and many other interesting stories. Thanks Sarah, it was a blast!
