This workshop series will be a deep dive into learning about the chakras. Over the course of many months I will offer a multidimensional path to healing for every chakra. We’re going to start with the root❤️

You will learn how to self identify imbalances and overactivity within each chakra. We will explore practices that will help you connect and balance each chakra on a mental, spiritual, and physical level.

Though I am a true island gyal who loves the Summer. I am also excited for the Fall and all her transitions. Fall reminds me to slow down and embrace a slower steadier routine.

I shared this last week as a quick thought, but this has been at the heart of my practice and teaching methodology over the last few years.

This world is requiring us to become more clear and exacting in the ways we care for the planet, each other and ourselves.
I’m feeling a pull to the serious pursuit of anything I could possible want and I’ve been craving ritual and dedicated spaces for deep thought and clear action.

Creation and grief are among the most confrontational mirrors we can encounter.

And yet, our capacity to create and to sit with impermanence is wired within us.

Remembering this can help us move toward the futures we are dreaming of.

These last few years of my own study, teaching, and practice have kept me close to these personal beliefs:

✨ The innate wisdom and ability to birth holds a blueprint for creating anything.
✨The wisdom of death and our capacity to sit with impermanence holds a blueprint for abolitionist work.
✨ At the cellular level, we are constantly being born, remembering, releasing and transforming. If we take time for deep listening we can tune in to the body’s constant expansion and contraction, and remember our ability to do the in life off the mat.

This world is requiring us to become more exacting, serious, and clear in how we think, act, create, rest, experience pleasure, and cultivate joy. Any clarity we offer ourselves can ripple outward and benefit the world around us.

I’m feeling ready to enter a dedicated space for deep inquiry, study, and action. This container opens this week, Thursday September 10.

Join me for a little active flexibility work for front splits at @studioumi.nyc in Brooklyn.

Active flexibility is the technique of using your body’s strength to increase your range of motion, versus passive stretching which involves using gravity or an external force. I love active flexibility techniques for remaining strong and creating sustainable flexibility. My 7:30 am Wednesday morning class at studio umi is 75 minutes, which gives us lots of time to work on flexibility goals within our mindful meditation practice. It’s the perfect way to start out your day.
