Last week(end) I had the wonderful opportunity to present some snippets of my work at @unfair_amsterdam

It’s quite hard to express how much gratitude and inspiration I feel coming out of this fair. It was amazing to meet so many new people, introduce them to my practice, sell work and even make new friends.

I am beyond grateful to @laradhj, @celesteravaglia and the whole UNFAIR team for this opportunity. Thank you for the a great organisation, atmosphere and platform

Going into this experience I wanted to showcase new experiments and showcase my love for combining text / image/ sequence, something which I’ll continue to explore. What started off as an attempt to replicate an object from grandfather, transformed into a larger exploration of my encounters with text-based signs and archives during my time in Canada. Making these objects would not have been possible without the tremendous help and expertise from both @sofiajarif and @studiozeedauw , who elevated these works to their full potential.

A huge thank you to @rominakoopman , @image__language and Frans Oosterhof for hosting me in Amsterdam and making sure I had a place to rest and gather myself after the long days. Thank you to my talented ‘fair-neighbours’ @noahvandewetering , @kenstoove @fariavancreijcallender , @tim__aeus @reinkooyman @hetresort , who made for great company and support during (de)constructing process. It means the world to me.

Vandaag was de opening van Factorium Beeldend bij Goretti aan het Wilhelminapark. Ondanks het weer was het drukbezocht en gezellig. Vele #makers die hun beeldende principe lieten zien in dit prachtige oude schoolgebouw. Directeur van Factorium, Bas Verberk, vertelde over de motivatie achter dit prachtige initiatief. Omdat je soms, als je iets mist, gewoon moet doen. En met Jet Pronk als projectleider, en een vruchtbare samenwerking met Ateliers Tilburg, kan dit niet anders dan een succes worden.
Dank aan alle artiesten, makers kunstenaars voor het tonen van hun werk, en dank voor de passie waarmee jullie over jullie werk spraken! #ateliers #beeldendekunst #stadvanmakers #factorium

Wil je grafische technieken leren en zelf aan de slag met inkt en drukpersen? Bij Studio Zeedauw ontdek je verschillende manieren om mooie prints te maken. Leer bijvoorbeeld een linosnede gutsen, letters drukken met letterpress of een ets maken. 🎨🖤

De workshops Linosnede, Letterpress en Etsen zijn er voor beginners én gevorderden. Je werkt in kleine groepen, waardoor er volop aandacht is voor jouw niveau en eigen ideeën. Vieze handen, blije gezichten en mooie prints gegarandeerd! ✨

Tijdens de cursusmarkt kun je zelf een afdruk komen maken op een echte drukpers bij de mobiele drukkerij. Een mooie kans om kennis te maken met de wereld van grafiek en Studio Zeedauw!

This week we welcomed a big group of first year students at both locations of St. Joost! During the first semester we organise several introduction workshops and activities for this group of students. One of the activities is the “Thuiswerkplaats”. All of our technicians develop a little workshop as an introduction to their workshop. Every technician/workshop made a package with all the materials needed for the workshop. We collected these packages in a “Workshop Goodiebag”.   Today, during an online session, our technicians guided all the students through the workshops. A fun way to get a glimpse of what students can do in the workshops! 🌟

Oh and by the way, the set was build by the technicians from Techlab and the Media workshop. As a student you can borrow all these equipment at the lending facilities. 📽️

Ik schrijf zoveel tekstjes, deze deel ik graag en heb ik nu 'ouderwets' afgedrukt bij een fijne workshop letterpress bij Rozemarijn van studio Zeedauw. Aanrader, zowel de workshop als de tafel delen ;-)!

Spent the day at a linocut workshop at Studio Zeedauw in Tilburg @studiozeedauw
Learned many new techniques and left with fresh inspiration.

I chose to work with a new member of the Zentangle® community: Lady Aura.
Exploring it in different colours, including one with a beautiful gradient technique.

Last year our Printmaking workshops had an excange and collaboration with the Printmaking workshop of LUCA. Four students from St. Joost and four students from LUCA worked on the theme Myths & Legends. In Ghent, they spent three days working with the A2 risograph, and during the return visit to St. Joost, the group spent three days working with letterpress. The result was a beautiful publication!
