Something new is coming to Phoenix Tap Fest. 🩵

The Annex Series: Looking Back, Looking Ahead.

Four weekends celebrating tap lineage—honoring the mentors who shaped the art form, the artists carrying it forward, and the next generation entrusted with its legacy.

First up: Steve Zee, honoring his mentor Stan Kahn, alongside Steve’s mentee Dante Lara.

Learn the history. Honor the legacy. Carry it forward. 🩵

This video represents so much strength and perseverance for me. You probably don’t know this, but I have been dealing with anxiety issues for the last couple years. A few weeks before this class, I had a panic attack that kept me out of a master class in this same room.

I didn’t want to let the anxiety win, so I came back and tried again… and it was one of the best nights of my life! Thank you to @studiozpac for being so welcoming and kind and to @matthewlynady for this awesome and inspiring class!

I know I will still struggle in the future, but I will always have this video to look back at and remind myself what can happen when I’m brave enough to just walk into the room and try my best 🤩
