RIVERSIDE VS. STANFIELD VOLLEYBALL
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS NIGHT

Some nights are about more than the game.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and communities everywhere come together to recognize those who have fought, those still fighting, and those we carry in our hearts.

Riverside did just that. Touching stories were shared, incredible people were recognized for their courage, and two teams came together to play the sport they love while honoring something much bigger than volleyball.

Thank you, ladies, for being part of such a meaningful night!

Now, let’s talk volleyball!

One thing I love about sports is how quickly the tables can turn. One night you’re David, the next you’re Goliath. You can battle one team down to the final point, then turn around and dominate another. There’s ALWAYS a bigger fish in the sea, and that’s what makes competition so beautiful.

Stay humble. Stay hungry. ALWAYS compete.

Win or lose, there’s something to learn every time you step onto that court. The best athletes understand that growth doesn’t stop when the final whistle blows.

And to Riverside and Stanfield, THANK YOU! Two programs that have shown me tremendous support this season. I’ve probably photographed hundreds of games in this Riverside gym by now, and somehow I’m STILL finding new angles, new moments, and new ways to tell your stories.

That’s the beauty of loving what you do. There’s always another moment worth capturing.

You ladies keep showing up, and I’ll keep showing up for you.

Much love to both programs, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who made Breast Cancer Awareness Night so meaningful.

Keep competing. Keep growing. And never forget that some of the biggest victories happen outside the lines.

NEW TEAM ALERT! ECHO GIRLS SOCCER! ⚽️

FIRST OFFICIAL ECHO GAME POST! AND WE’RE JUST GETTING STARTED!

I actually had to move this post up a few days because these ladies were on me about getting their photos posted! AND I LOVE THAT! There’s nothing better than knowing athletes are excited to see themselves captured doing what they love!

ECHO COMMUNITY, LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF!

I’m still a new face around here, but you’ve already made me feel right at home! From the athletes to the coaches and families, this community has been nothing but welcoming, helpful, and supportive!

I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Echo for your school’s media days, but I wanted to take things a step further and get out to a game! Give your athletes and families a chance to see what Sturgeon Studios brings to the sidelines!

THIS IS WHAT SEASON PASS COVERAGE IS ALL ABOUT!

The action, the emotion, the intensity, the celebrations, and those little moments that make an athlete’s season unforgettable! My goal has always been to give athletes something they can look back on long after the final whistle.

And Echo, I would LOVE to make this a regular thing! As more families get involved with Season Passes, the more opportunities I’ll have to get your teams on my schedule!

Ladies, I hope these frames give you a little piece of your season to hold onto! You brought the energy, and I had a blast capturing it!

Thank you, Echo, for welcoming me into your community! I’m excited to keep building relationships, showing up for your athletes, and hopefully becoming a familiar face on your sidelines!

FIRST GAME IN THE BOOKS! LET’S MAKE SURE IT’S NOT THE LAST!

LET’S GO, ECHO!

HEPPNER VOLLEYBALL 🏐🐎

One last game with these ladies to close out my volleyball coverage for the season!

Heppner, THANK YOU! The support I’ve received from this team and community has been incredible. You show up for me, and I’ll continue showing up for you!

A season full of competition, smiles, celebrations, and moments that are now frozen in time. Memories you can look back on and relive for years to come.

To the seniors, this was my last opportunity to capture you competing in a Mustang volleyball uniform. I hope these photos serve as a reminder of the memories you’ve made and the hard work you’ve put in. To the underclassmen, I’ll see some of you right back here next year!

And can we talk about this gym for a second? The beautiful woodwork, the artwork, those vibrant yellow accents, and the ability to shoot from above and below. It’s a photographer’s playground!

Something I’ve learned over the years is that getting unique photos isn’t always about having the best equipment. It’s about being willing to see things differently. Finding the little details, moving to a different angle, getting low, climbing high, and anticipating the moments before they happen.

The question isn’t always can you get the shot? It’s how far are you willing to go to get it?

I hope these photos speak for themselves!

Thank you again, Heppner Volleyball, for an incredible season. Keep competing, keep growing, and never forget the memories you’ve made together!

GO MUSTANGS! 🟡🔵🟡🔵🟡🔵🟡🔵🟡🔵🟡🔵🟡

UMATILLA VS BURNS FOOTBALL

Burns has built one heck of a football program. There’s no denying the talent, discipline, and level of competition they bring to the field.

But here’s something I’ve always believed about sports. You don’t have to win every game to walk away with something valuable.

I remember playing sports in high school and going up against teams we knew would be incredibly difficult to beat. But those were some of the games you could learn the most from.

Maybe it’s something an opposing athlete does differently. Maybe it’s how a coach leads their team, how players communicate, or how they respond under pressure. There’s always something worth paying attention to.

And that goes for coaches just as much as athletes. Nobody knows everything. There’s always room to grow, improve, and become better at what you do.

That’s the beauty of sports. You take those experiences, learn from them, and keep building. You get 1% better, then another 1%, and before you know it, all those little lessons start adding up.

The scoreboard tells you who won the game. It doesn’t tell you what you gained from playing it.

A special thank you to my season pass holder who brought me out to cover Umatilla football! I’m grateful for the opportunity to capture these athletes doing what they love.

Umatilla has always been a community that’s made me feel welcome, and I genuinely appreciate that. I hope to continue building those relationships and creating more opportunities to showcase your athletes in the future.

Keep your heads up, Vikings. Keep learning, keep competing, and most importantly, keep showing up. That’s how you grow.

IRRIGON VS HEPPNER VOLLEYBALL
DIG PINK NIGHT
•
More than just volleyball tonight! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and these ladies took the court to honor the women and families affected by breast cancer. Thank you for using your platform to recognize something much bigger than the game!

I was looking forward to this matchup, and it did not disappoint! Heppner is loaded with talented athletes who know how to compete, not just in volleyball but across multiple sports. But Irrigon came ready to battle! Under second-year head coach Brenda, this team continues to show just how much potential Irrigon volleyball has. The fight, energy, and determination were on full display!

What a great night of volleyball! So much young talent on both sides of the net, and I genuinely can’t wait to see how far some of these athletes go. Keep putting in the work, ladies! Your futures are yours to write, and it’s been a pleasure capturing a small part of the journey!

UMATILLA @ IRRIGON SOCCER

Man, this was one of those nights I definitely underestimated the cold! Should’ve brought a few extra layers, but we made it work!

Cold weather wasn’t stopping me from showing up for my season pass holder!

When you book Sturgeon Studios, you’re getting more than just photos. You’re getting someone who’s dedicated to showing up, putting in the work, and building a gallery of memories your athlete will be proud to look back on for years to come.

That’s the standard I hold myself to, no matter the conditions!

Thank you! Always a pleasure watching these athletes compete!

PAO | SENIOR 2027

It’s always an honor to be trusted with someone’s senior photos!

While sports photography is my specialty, photography itself is where my passion lives. Being able to take that creativity beyond the sidelines and capture such an important chapter in someone’s life is something I’ll never take for granted.

Pao, thank you for trusting me to capture these one-of-a-kind memories! You’ve always been such a joy to talk to, and getting to watch you grow and compete in your sports over the years has been just as rewarding.

I have no doubt you’ll do great things beyond high school. Keep working hard, stay true to yourself, and most importantly, enjoy these final months walking the halls. They go by faster than you think!

Thank you again for letting me be a small part of your senior year. And happy belated birthday!

Showing up for my season pass holders and capturing a few extra moments along the way!

Every game is another opportunity to sharpen my skills, try something new, and continue growing behind the camera. Every click of the shutter is a chance to learn, improve, and push my work a little further.

Practice makes progress, and I’m always chasing that next great shot!

Really happy with how these turned out!

STANFIELD VS IRRIGON VOLLEYBALL 🏐

What a great year of volleyball it’s been! A big part of what’s made this season so enjoyable has been the opportunity to cover both of these incredible teams!

So much talent, determination, and heart on both sides of the net. But I also want to take a moment to recognize the amazing coaches leading these young ladies!

Your passion for the game and dedication to your athletes don’t go unnoticed. You’re not just teaching volleyball. You’re building confidence, character, discipline, and leadership in the next generation of young women. That impact goes far beyond the court!

We need more coaches like you ladies! Keep setting the example, being strong role models, and giving these athletes someone to look up to!

Thank you to both teams for letting me be a small part of your season. It’s been a pleasure capturing these memories for you all! Keep competing and making your communities proud!
