A view into another weekend on the water! Another really special part of the trip was getting to see WHALES! No pictures because I was laser focused on watching them! We got to see some spouting, it was so close you could hear their watery little exhale so clearly! It sounded like such a distinctive little mammal voice 🤯 sooo cool! And we also got to see some tail waves. I’d never seen that before! I try not to lust after animal sightings - being on the water is its own reward - but wow is it a special part of being out there! The Pacific Northwest Offshore is an annual sailboat race from the mouth of the Columbia River to Victoria, British Columbia. This year is my first year racing in it and the 50th anniversary of the race. It starts May 14th and we should make it to Victoria in about two days. I’ll post information about how to track our boat (and all the others) as we get closer! ⛵️
