I have done so many Sally Bounds that she's become the main character of Spooky Season for me. My bound today is another throwback; I haven't been 'playing dress up' in a while since I'm still not doing so well. My last couple of weekends have been busy and tiring as I had a few weddings and events to attend.

Anna reminds us that having a good heart doesn’t mean you’ll never get hurt. 🤍

She believed there was still good in people, even when they gave her every reason to stop believing. She chose compassion, forgiveness, and love without pretending that the hurt didn’t happen.

And I think there’s something powerful in that.

Sometimes the people we see the good in will disappoint us. Sometimes they’ll take our kindness for granted or hurt us in ways we never expected.

But their actions don’t have to change the heart you choose to have.

You can learn from what happened without becoming bitter. You can have boundaries without losing your compassion. And you can walk away from someone while still knowing there was good in them.

Having a big heart is never something to be embarrassed about. Just make sure you’re giving that heart to people who know how to value it.
