Love my February, but it’s black history all the time. I am black history. I will be black history.

To: Keyla 💌💌💌
23 years of learning how to live without a clear map, learning to trust God as my compass when guidance felt quiet and the road felt uncertain. I’ve overcome more than I often give myself credit for, loss, doubt, growing pains, and seasons where I had to become my own safe place. I’m learning not to be a slave to my own mind, but a conductor of it, guiding my thoughts with grace instead of fear. The darkness is temporary, but the light of God is eternal.
This year is another step toward that light, another chance to walk fully in my purpose with faith over fear. Philippians reminds me that even when rest feels tempting, God still has work for me to do here on this earth, and I trust His plan for my life. I’m learning that love begins within, that healing is holy, and that owning my heart is my greatest responsibility. As I step into this next chapter, I do so more intentionally, carefully choosing my words, my thoughts, and the way I show up for myself and others.
I am deeply grateful for every soul I’ve met along the way, those who stayed, those who taught me, and even those who were only meant for a season. Thank you to everyone who has poured into me, walked beside me, and helped shape me through this thing called life. All that you touch, you change; all that you change, changes you. The only lasting truth is change, and God is change.
PS: I love you, Mama. I truly believe your smile shines through the sky, becoming another lamp guiding me through this life 💫🤍
Cheers to 23🥂🎂
