WHY THE MAX LUNGE? — Because life and sport don’t happen in one plane. — We step. We rotate. We change direction. We accelerate. We DECELERATE. — Yet somehow, we still love training the lunge like the only direction that exists is straight ahead. — Enter the DVRT MAX Lunge. — MAX = Multiple Axis. And that’s exactly why I love this drill. — At first glance, it looks like a lunge with a sandbag swinging around your body. But there’s A LOT more happening here. — As I step into the lunge, the @ultimatesandbag is creating rotational forces across my body. My job? CONTROL THEM. — The goal isn’t to twist harder. It’s to create enough stability through the feet, hips and trunk that I can safely manage the movement of the load. — Think about what we’re training: 1. DECELERATION — Can I absorb force as I step? 2. FRONTAL PLANE STABILITY — Can my hip control my pelvis as I move? 3. ANTI-ROTATION — Can my trunk resist being pulled around by the bag? 4. FOOT → HIP CONNECTION — Can I use the ground to create stability upstream? 5. MULTIPLANAR STRENGTH — Can all of these systems work TOGETHER? — That last part matters. Because the body isn’t a collection of isolated muscles. It’s a system. — And when that system can create stability while forces are coming from different directions… We create more options for movement. — That’s why I don’t look at the MAX Lunge as just another “lunge variation.” It’s teaching the body to produce, absorb and redirect force while maintaining control. — And THAT has a lot more carryover to how humans actually move. Purpose Drives Intent. — #DVRT
