Today’s class at @marca_college focused on the importance of understanding shades within our fades.

My model had previously undergone a hair transplant, leaving areas of inconsistent density throughout the sides and back.

Rather than focusing on specific guard numbers or lengths, we approached the haircut visually—using our clippers and scissors to lighten darker areas and create balance with the naturally lighter, lower-density sections.

The goal wasn’t simply to fade the hair shorter, but to create consistency through the appearance of light and dark.

Understanding shades is just as important as understanding lengths. 💈

Barbers Edge ‘26 🖤🔥
One of my fav events of the year

Huge shoutout to my girl Gina for jumping back into barbering just 6 months ago and being 1 of only 16 finalists chosen to compete this year. Proud doesn’t even begin to describe it. 🥹🖤

LOVE YOU SO MUCH @gvexx__

A weekend of learning, competing, and getting inspired. 🖤

Stepping into a barber competition pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. Getting to learn from so many talented barbers and putting my skills to the test in front of some of the best was such a cool experience.
Thanks again @tommygunsbarber 💈✂️#barbersedge2026

I just had the BEST two days! ✂️

I was so honoured to attend Tommy Guns Barbers’ EDGE this year, and honestly, I was completely unprepared for how incredible it would be.

Learning from seven incredible educators who are truly doing the work was such an amazing experience. I loved hearing their perspectives, learning new techniques, and being reminded to stay true to our individuality, to always be willing to learn, and to keep working hard.

I may be a little late to the barbering community, but better late than never, right? ❤️

I was also SO excited to cheer on Kailey! I feel incredibly honoured to have her as my mentor, and getting to watch her shine and cheer her on was such a fun part of the whole experience. I’m so grateful to have her in my corner!

The energy, the education, the inspiration, and the people were all incredible. I’m leaving these two days feeling so motivated, grateful, and excited to keep learning and growing.

Thank you, Tommy Guns, for an unforgettable two days! What an incredible experience. 🖤✂️
