A HUGGEEEE thanks to all the clubs that got involved in our Pride in Sport Go-Athon last Friday! Our clubs travelled a massive 422.8KM across the day which is incredible considering it took place between 11-4:30! It was also really fun to be involved with the mini Pride parade arranged by @sheffsu.lgbt which saw a great turnout for the walk around Western Park and the @sheffieldsu! All in all, through donations and rainbow laces purchases, our clubs raised an enormous £484 on the day! All donations go to the amazing local charity @sayitsheffield who make such a difference to LGBT+ lives in Sheffield! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ #LGBT #SheffieldSU #PrideInSport #SportSheffield

🚨UCU STRIKE UPDATE🚨 The UCU has announced a stop to their Industrial Action for the next few days to possibly dialogue with Universities. But what does this mean for our campaign? It means that now more than ever, we have to push for the strikers' needs to be met by the employer to ensure the future of Higher Education. Read more about this in the post! If you have ideas on how to improve the experience of students and are passionate about representation, consider nominating yourself in the SU Officer Elections 2023! The SU is led by 13 Officers, who are the face of our SU and represent your student voice and issues to the University, and on a local and national level. All Officer roles are paid roles, with a mix of Full-Time and Part-Time roles available. Any student can put themselves forward for nomination, and will receive full campaign training and staff support from the SU, with regular training sessions running from the 27th February to 8th March. ❗ IMPORTANT ❗ If you are an international student and have any questions or concerns about your Visa/immigration status in case of nominating yourself for an Officer role, please get in touch with Sarah Woods (sarah.woods@sheffield.ac.uk), who is an advisor at the University's International Student Support Team, and she will be able to help you in exploring your options. She is also in ISSAC office at the SU (Level 3, next to SSiD) every Wednesday, so you can drop in to ask any questions face-to-face. You can find out more about the Officer Elections on the SU Website, and nominate yourself via the link in the bio. Nominate yourself now - the deadline is on the 24th of February, at 5pm!
