OPA! 🇬🇷✨ Today, we took a little trip to Greece without ever leaving school! We treated our wonderful teachers and staff to a delicious Greek-inspired lunch featuring yummy favorites from Taziki’s, homemade hummus, and pasta salad.

And let’s not forget the stars of the show—the oh-so-yummy homemade lemon bars and baklava! 🍋🤤

We’re so thankful for our amazing teachers and staff and love finding fun ways to show them just how much they’re appreciated! 💙🇬🇷

Many an art- and surf-world star has left his mark on the walls of Hotel Palms, the Atlantic Beach
retro-motorcourt-turned-boutique hotel. Murals by Ty Williams, Lucas Beaufort, Jason Woodside, and
Ozzie Wright, among others, dot the walls connecting the hotel’s 26 rooms – thoughtfully designed
with a mix of midcentury and beachy aesthetics – across two properties, where, depending on the
season, guests lounge by the pool or the wood-burning fireplace in the Palms’ courtyard.

Tucked into the lobby of the Hotel Palms, this outpost of the Ace Coffee empire deploys the popular
roaster’s signature blends across an innovative, locally-themed menu of drinks.

Standouts include a coconut water americano, the Dark Wave Latte (espresso, milk, cherry, chocolate, cacao powder), Lawn Chair (espresso, Orangina over ice) and a 16 Dollar Matcha that actually costs $6.99.

THE PIER

As its name suggests, the Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier was ostensibly built for anglers. But its
location in the heart of Jax Beach’s downtown, near the eastern end of the region’s main beach-going
thoroughfare, as well as its status as the area’s most-consistent wave magnet, helps it attract a much
more eclectic scene.

On both the pier’s north and south sides, when the waves are good, the hedonism of the hordes of townies on the sand is often outmatched by the fervor in the lineup. Notable features of Jax Beach’s nearly quarter-mile-long structure include a bait shop, public
restrooms and its own unsanctioned militia – a fearsome brigade of groms who answer to no man,
save their revered leader: 87-time Eastern Surfing Association Champion Jason Motes.
