As a child, my memories of Kolkata were tied to unpleasant moments . For years, that’s all the city meant. I never explored it, never tried to know it better.

Yet even after decades away, Kolkata never really left me. The food at home, another career option as a creator , the language with Maa, the culture she carried , Maa came out of Kolkata, but Kolkata never came out of her.

Only when I began creating in Bangla and embracing my roots did I start falling in love again letting new memories heal the old ones. This trip with Maa was exactly that: rewriting the story.

Kolkata welcomed me with love , the food, the warmth of people, the comfort of my own language. It felt like discovering the city for the very first time.

“Why didn’t I love you earlier? Why didn’t I let myself discover you before?” I asked in silence. And Kolkata replied with healing, warmth, and love I’ll always carry with me.
Also I’m beyond grateful to every Bengali following my content and engaging with it. You’ve no idea how motivating it is. I know this time I couldn’t do the meet and greet despite of many offering to help out with the arrangements but I promise , that will happen the next time I’m there 🤍

This month was all about rehearsals (no pics to prove it), fixing Grandpa’s health, making sure Mom got some time to breathe, reconnecting with friends I hadn’t seen in ages, eating whatever my body craved, dropping all inhibitions, bonding with Ocean, teaming up with my OG manager — and so much more that this photo dump could never capture.
