Southern, you brought the energy! 💙💛🔥

From the SU Gold N’ Bluez and Royal Court to the campus games, student activities, and all the moments happening around the Boost Bus, Southern University showed us what Culture In Motion™ really looks like.

Pretty Wednesday brought students together for music, friendly competition, interactive experiences, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate Jaguar pride. From the Selfie Station and 360 booth to the student organizations bringing their own flavor to campus, there was something for everyone to be part of.

Big love to @southernu_br, @lacumbathejaguar, @subrsga, @su_humanjukebox, @southernucheer, @subrgreeks, @subr_soc, and @su_goldnbluez for making this stop one to remember.

Culture moves differently when the whole community shows up. 🚌✨

Tonight, I had the pleasure of joining Judge Erika Green, Councilman Darryl Hurst, and Faith Alexander, representing Councilman Anthony Kenney, for “Political Point,” hosted by Southern University’s SGA Judicial Branch. @subr_judicialbranch

I’ve been involved in politics since I was 17. Whether I was leading protests in 2016, working to impact policy at the Louisiana Legislature, bringing people together through my festival, or preparing to unite 1,000 women to vote this Friday, one lesson remains the same: The most powerful thing we can do is work together.

We won’t always agree, but we can always find common ground in serving our communities and putting people over politics.

Thank you to the students and their leadership for having us tonight and creating space for these important conversations!
