Please join us tonight for the opening of “The Promised Land”, a solo exhibition by Subramonian Natarajan (@subramonian12).

Sharing an excerpt from the exhibition statement, poet and painter @jobegemmellhughes writes the following about this collection of work: “Ballads to objects, people, and states of feeling that have been lost and are wishing to be found. Like any good balladist, Natarajan’s work speaks to the experience of loneliness, obsession, confusion, and despair as the glinting presence of hope is felt, however naively, somewhere above it all.”

📆 TONIGHT! April 25, 2026
📍 James B Marco Gallery (3721 W Montrose Ave, Chicago)
🕕 6–9pm

Our public reception is open from 6–9pm tonight at James B Marco Gallery. Open hours are Sunday from 3–6pm, or by appointment.

Family + Art = ARTASTIC! Last Saturday, we visited the SAIC Galleries for not one, but two amazing exhibitions: the Fall Undergraduate (BFA) Exhibition (which includes our niece’s work!) and the SAIC Faculty Sabbatical Triennial (hello, Tom Burtonwood!)! So much talent in one building—look out, Art World—the students are definitely listening and learning from some brilliant teachers and mentors!

Bonus: pre-visit, Mike spied a gorgeous Melissa Leandro piece in the nearby Starbucks! ❤️

*The BFA show is up until November 19th, and the Faculty show until December 6th, 2025—get on over by the 19th to see both of them! YYYEEESSS!!!!* ❤️💨🌃🎨⭐️s🔥👏🍀🙏🏻🔴
