The Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter, Southern University Section of the National Council of Negro Women, SU Votes, SU NAACP and WSUB proudly welcomed over 100 guests to meet U.S. Senate candidate Jamie Davis and District Attorney candidate Ryan Thompson. (Note: All candidates were invited to attend and participate.)

Purple Table Talk was created around a simple idea: our community benefits when people have opportunities to hear directly from individuals seeking public office, ask meaningful questions, and become better informed participants in the civic process.

Thank you to all participants and attendees, we all left better informed and prepared for impact.

This week voters have had multiple opportunities to hear directly from the candidates for District Attorney. While others have made different decisions about participating, we’re focused on running our own race, and that means meeting the people where they are, showing up, and answering the tough questions head-on.

Tonight, @ryankeiththompson will join Democratic Senate candidate @jamieforlouisiana for the Purple Table Talk Candidates Forum at Southern University, and we want YOU to be part of the conversation.

Thursday, September 3rd, 2026
6PM–8PM
Leon R. Tarver Cultural & Heritage Center
Southern University

Hosted by the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with NCNW Southern University A&M College Section and Southern University Votes.

We want another packed house tonight so tell your friends, family, classmates, and neighbors to pull up and join the conversation!
