OCTOBER PROGRAMME // 17 YEARS OF NEW GUERNICA

On 31 October (yes, Halloween) New Guernica turns 17.

To mark the occasion, we’ve put together our biggest monthly programmes yet: 45 parties across three rooms, four nights a week and the full spectrum of what happens inside this building.

Underpinned by our Mainroom weeklys: Guerns Thursdays, +1 Fridays and e. Saturdays. The month brings together some of our favourite crews, promoters and DJs, alongside international guests, day parties, album launches, afterparties, interactive showcases and a few secrets more ;).

For the first time in a long time, live music also returns as an integral part of our monthly programme.

Each week carries us a little closer to the finale: a full Halloween-decor transformation of the venue and four nights of ween-theme-birthday celebrations, culminating in New Guernica’s 17th birthday on Saturday, 31 October.

More details on the birthday weekend are still to come.

We’re incredibly grateful to every artist, organiser, promoter, staff member and dancer who continues to fill these rooms and has given this club its life. Seventeen years is no small thing, and we’re excited to celebrate it with the people who’ve made New Guernica what it is.

We hope there’s a party, or two, on this programme that calls to you.

Ive uploaded my mix from last Saturday nights @succulentfunk party at @collingwood_basement. You know how to get there!

It was such a joy to close things out, as it always is with Succulent Funk. @chucheewa & @headhunterspbsfm played killer sets and got the people moving so my job was easy.

Pretty turbo one in the scheme of Jasper Miles sets, lots of big ol house tracks & uplifting disco goodness. Played a few records that had been sitting on the shelves for too long and it was time to dust em off and bring em back out - especially the closing track....

The recorder was running a bit hot so the mix came out so very crispy and crunchy in places, definitely a bit too much at times but I like a bit of that crunch - gives it that live feeling. Plenty of record skips too as folks were getting down too hard!
