🤠DENTON FIXIN TO GET DAZZLED🤠

We're so stoked to finally announce that the St. Louis bred progressive noise rock hall of famers Dazzling Killmen are making their way to Texas this winter to play Rubber Gloves on Saturday December 5th. They'll be joined by Austin's own noise punk legacy super group Suckling (ex-Scratch Acid, TAD, Butthole Surfers, etc etc etc) as well as our friends in Bliss Fields and Many Such Cases.

Doors at 7p // Rock at 8p

$15 presale // $20 at the door

Dazzling Killmen formed in St. Louis in 1990 and consisted of vocalist/guitarist Nick Sakes, drummer Blake Fleming, bassist Darin Gray, and guitarist Tim Garrigan. They created a clutch of singles and two albums, the excellent DIG OUT THE SWITCH and the wildly influential FACE OF COLLAPSE, an album that had a seismic impact on dozens of 21st century metalcore acts (the Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Botch, many more). Members of the Killmen went on to any array of math rock and prog titans: The Mars Volta, Colossamite, Sicbay, You Fantastic!, Laddio Bolocko, and more.

In 2025, Sakes and Fleming reactivated the band with Evan Jagels playing bass. Jack Weiss is their current and extremely badass guitarist. The band’s recent shows have been exceptional, an absolutely spectacular return from the dead. A remastered DIG OUT THE SWITCH was reissued in 2025, a deluxe FACE OF COLLAPSE was released in August of this year. You need to see these dudes!

Suckling began last decade as a Texas noise rock supergroup featuring guitarist Brett Bradford (Scratch Acid), drummer John Paul Keenon (World BIzarre, Daniel Johnston), singer/various instruments Ezra Reynolds (the Jazzus Lizard), and bassist Win Wallace (Gorch Fock), but they kicked into gear post-pandemic. Their 2023 album is a modern classic of Texas psychedelia; their most recent release is a single of Jesus Lizard covers.

TRTRS (Tortures) is keeping the noble tradition of Texas noise rock alive, well and screaming at you from the pulpit.

Opening the show is a special appearance by Dirtee Clouds, the solo endeavor of one Kevin Whitley. Dirtee Clouds is a wholly owned subsidiary of MAL-ARTS, an Arts and Actions Organization; the first of the latter is the new Dirtee Clouds digital album/compact disc (it’s the hot new format) LIBRARY MUSIC : HISSING FITS. More will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Jammerzine has an exclusive interview with Anthony Pedone, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and filmmaker extraordinaire with the band Cornpone.

Cornpone has always occupied a unique place in the history of the Texas underground, earning a reputation that was built as much on fearless live performances as on uncompromising music. Emerging from Hewitt before making their mark in Austin’s thriving punk scene, the band embraced chaos with purpose, fusing noise, hardcore, dark humor, and performance art into something impossible to ignore. Decades after their abrupt ending, that legacy is finally receiving the attention it deserves as long-lost recordings are finding their way into the hands of listeners who never had the chance to experience the band during its original run.

Our interview with guitarist and vocalist Anthony Pedone looks beyond the mythology to reveal the people behind the noise. Pedone reflects on a band that constantly pushed creative boundaries while balancing friendships, artistic ambition, and the unpredictable reality of life in the underground music scene. His memories paint a vivid picture of Cornpone at its creative peak, when every performance felt like a collision between precision and total collapse, producing an energy that became legendary throughout Austin’s punk community.
