POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One of my biggest fears is exploitation! I wrestle with posting about our non-for-profit, never wanting to selfishly gain anything at another’s expense!

I remember my first trip to Kenya in 2013 & my first experience with Kibera - I didn’t want to take pictures or stare at anyone! But Mary @maryasiko (my new friend at the time from Kibera) took my phone & took pictures & said we want you to SEE!

So here I am 13 years later wanting others to SEE! SEE what God HAS DONE! For HE has done great things & May God be glorified through this post & Magnified & lifted high for what I am about to share!

Becky School was started in Kibera in 2015. I did not name the school - our adopted daughter Mary, who is from Kibera - named the school “Becky School Centre” in 2015. Mary & I met in 2013 in Kenya.

Mary started the school by going hut to hut to see if anyone would trust her with their little children. All she wanted to do was offer the poorest of poor a place to come be loved, fed & educated!

She started Becky School with 11 children & we paid the rent for a humble abode. 11 years later Becky School is an accredited School with almost 300 students & it provides lots of love, food & nurture & admonition in Christ & an accredited education - still to the poorest of poor & it is a free school! We started Little Hearts of Africa in 2015 to come alongside Becky School and to help children who would otherwise not get to go to school!

With the purchase of the new land for the new JSS school, the needs are never ending for the first few years with the start up of a whole new school on a new site. In order to raise awareness for the needs, Mary is hosting a walk in Kibera with the kids on Saturday, November 7th. We would love you to walk a mile that day & pray over these precious 300 little Hearts God had entrusted into our hands!

And should the Lord lead you, you can Venmo any amount - no gift is too small or too big for this project! 100% goes to Little Hearts of Africa which helps fund Becky School.

Thank you for your love, prayers and support!
Kiss kiss💋💋

Blessed and highly favored that this is my life. That Ford is my kid. That we go to a school who loves and honors God. That we have Proverbs 27:17 friendships because of said school. That Ford is growing more and more into the character of Jesus and it is on display. Thank you thank you thank you Lord. Go be great kid 🫶 mama loves you. 1st grade, here we come!

Moms and Dads- It’s time to unite! 👶 Your Members of Congress are negotiating the budget package now -- and they will decide whether to include paid leave. If they don’t hear from all of us, paid leave could be cut. This is our best chance to make sure they pass a national paid family and medical leave program.

Will you send them a quick email asking them to prioritize and pass paid leave in the budget package? Click the link in our bio for a pre-written message you can customize, or leave just as it is. It’s that easy. Tag a #workingparent and pass it on.

Congratulations Susan Chaplin and Margot Caruso on Reborn Coffee coming soon to Manhattan Beach, CA. ☕👏👏👏

Reborn Coffee elevates the coffee experience with unique drinks such as Detox, with their lavender charcoal milk. Made with french lavender tea, charcoal and sweetened with agave, all organic then cut with oat milk.

Consistently voted America's Best Cold Brew since 2017, this Southern California favorite has quickly become the spot for the perfect cup of brew.

Congratulations to Alfredo Arguello, Susan Chaplin, and Andrew Lundahl for representing the buyer in the acquisition of this value-add opportunity in Hemet, CA for $3.5 million.

DD’s Discounts occupied ± 44% of the existing GLA and the buyer had a tenant in tow for the vacancy by the time the transaction closed.
