A hidden gem that I thought would’ve been the worst part of the trip, was the best. Learning about the history of the Roman baths, exploring the city of Cardiff, and singing in cathedrals and castles was phenomenal

The former Greenwich Hospital skittle alleys old and new. Bored sailors whiled away their leisure time here. They definitely would have scored better than me!

It was great being back at Vindolanda this week in the sunshine, and an unexpected treat to bump into fellow Blue Badge Guide Sue who was visiting on holiday.

Vindolanda I think is my favourite site on Hadrian's Wall not least because the archaeological dig here each season discovers new treasures.

One of the recent finds was a carved stone showing a mystery naked horseman.. check the link in the bio to find out more!

Last night was all too much. Not only did I get a wonderful gourmet care package from @cabbie_london but I then had a second delivery. My sister has been going through the family archives and unearthed and reprinted all these amazing pictures of my father Capt. Antony Robbins in wartime - and his father Rev’d Walter Robbins in colonial-era China. I love it! Long-lost snaps of my Dad as a dashing young officer. Even more poignant in this 80th year marking the Battle of Britain and Dunkirk evacuation. Really quite moving to see them. Plenty of inspiration here for you @greyfoxblog. It’s also food for thought for tomorrow’s live BBC Radio London Breakfast Show linterview at 8.45 am. I’ll be talking about the work of @shaungordontiemaker and the brilliantly quirky podcasts of @fromtailorswithlove. (If you want to learn more about James Bond’s towels then this us the place for you). The influence on fashion of military tailoring is a fascinating story.
