A little collection of everyday memories from the last 6 weeks, making a home out of Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳

I fell in love with Vietnam 8 years ago when I travelled from the south to the north of the country for 2 months.
Back then I didn’t spend more than a few days in one place so pausing in Da Nang for an extended period has been so beautiful.
I love staying in a place for long enough that it starts to feel like home. Making a coffee shop your local, seeing familiar faces around, your mind starting to make sense of the winding web of streets.

Da Nang is so vibrant, sweet and eclectic.
It has a real buzz about it but is in no way overwhelming or hectic especially in comparison to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi. The traffic is slow and sparse. The food is great. The city is modern and shiny but rich in culture and tradition. It’s unbelievably affordable and budget friendly - you can get a delicious dinner for less than £1. Surrounded by mountains and kissed by the South China Sea, it’s pretty much the perfect city.

Anyway this is what I’ve been doing for the last 6 weeks. Working at a slow pace, eating banh mi, spending time with my best friends, studying, hanging at the beach, drinking banana cacao, sitting in coffee shops, pondering about life, writing, reading, learning about who I am when the pace of life slows from a sprint to a stroll.
In fact, it’s been a lot less doing and a lot more being. I really do quite like that.

I’m not sure what the plan is but for now I’m quite content to just be here ❤️
