About a month ago, our residents and Executive Director went to Iowa to fire a Wood Kiln with artist Jim Kasper. They went back up a couple weeks after to retrieve their work, and we wanted to share their excitement for the pieces that came out!

A couple of weekends ago, our clay residents and Executive Director embarked on a wood-firing adventure! Jim Kasper, a renowned ceramicist and generous supporter of Access Arts, invited us up to his studio in Iowa where he had a very adventurous firing planned. Together, they did tons of fun experiments while firing the wood kiln, and are headed back up tomorrow to unload their pieces! Be sure to follow our ceramicists on their socials to see how everything turned out, and thank you so much to Jim for helping to provide such a fun and enriching experience to our artists!

We are excited to give a huge welcome to one of our new residents, Summer! @summerhallpottery is a ceramic artist from Alabama, where in 2020 she received her BFA from the University of North Alabama. Her work presents a visual narrative that gains a new life through the viewer, and you can see this in some of her work on our website. Summer will be teaching classes this session and in many sessions to come, so be sure to say hello if you see her around!

More amazing things I saw and bought I rlly wish I could upload all the photos I took but I will do my best here!!!
The people I tagged that I bought and met art from are such amazing and welcoming people honestly made me feel connected 2 them in some way that art is a self expression especially with @robertwalkerartist and @hereachickthereachick work but Imma not forget 2 shine light 2 the amazing ppl who I also met like @audrydealmcever her pottery is inspired by techniques from a different culture which I forgot I'm so sorry- but how it's al morphed into some sort of design of some flower or plant and it works amazingly

All the other amazing artists that I got their card from are
@karenfincannon1
@bubmodern
@rave.sake.studios
