Trust the process, even when progress feels slow. The work you put in when no one’s watching is what makes the difference. 🏃🏼‍♀️

A little reminder to back yourself and take the chance 🤍

Sometimes we get so caught up in where we want to be that we forget how far we’ve already come. You don’t have to be the strongest, the fastest or even feel ready to start. You never really know what you’re capable of until you give yourself the chance to find out.

So take the chance, do the hard things and be proud of yourself for trying.

Road to HYROX Brisbane 27.

The partner format isn’t HYROX.
The repeatability is.

This FUSION session at @actvtownsville was all YGIG — work hard, hand over, get your breathing back, then be ready to go again.

Bike into sleds. Ski with ball work. Cleans and holds. Rowing into push press and chin-ups.

No single effort is the problem. It’s being able to produce another good one… and another… when the recovery window keeps getting shorter.

That’s another piece of this build I need to get better at: not just having an engine, but learning how quickly I can settle it and go again.

More work in the bank. Road to Brisbane continues.

Road to HYROX Brisbane 27.

Now we’re starting to get a little closer to the point.

Not because this is a HYROX simulation — it isn’t — but because the body doesn’t get much chance to settle.

Skip. Squat. Swing. Erg.
Then wall balls, running, step overs, bike and a whole lot in between.

Different movements, different demands, same job: get the breathing under control and keep moving.

That’s probably the biggest thing I’m learning through the @actvtownsville Hybrid pathway so far. Strength is one part. Running is one part. But eventually you have to put different pieces together and still be able to work when you’re already carrying fatigue.

Plenty to improve. That’s the point.

Road to Brisbane continues.

One thing I don’t want to do through this build is turn into someone who only runs.

The goal is to get better at HYROX without giving away the strength I’ve spent years building.

So alongside the running, there’s still proper strength work at @actvtownsville.

This session was Upper FORCE:
heavy 6s, straight into higher-rep work on the same pattern, with plenty of pressing and pulling volume around it.

The challenge over the next few months is finding the balance — enough running to build the engine, enough strength work to keep moving well under load, and enough recovery to actually adapt to both.

Road to HYROX Brisbane 27.

HYROX training isn’t just running and sleds.

This was Lower FORCE on the @actvtownsville HYBRID pathway — heavy work followed immediately by 8–12 reps on the same movement pattern.

The idea: build strength, then keep producing quality reps once the legs are already fatigued.

Pretty relevant when HYROX asks you to run 8 km with a station waiting after every kilometre. 😅

The running builds the engine.
The strength work helps make sure the legs are still there when we need them.

One session at a time.

“Seven years of hybrid training. Now, it’s a pathway.”

Head of Programming & Founder @anthonybartolo__

Hybrid isn’t new at ACTV. It’s how we’ve trained since day one, strength and conditioning , programmed together, so you never have to choose between the two.

The ACTV Hybrid Pathway is built into ACTV Online, giving you a clear path from training to competition.

Whether you’re stepping into your first competition or chasing your next PB, the pathway meets you where you’re at.

Tap the Hybrid tab in ACTV Online and set your pathway with your coach.
