Summer Walker is facing a legal battle with her label Interscope after seeking to exit her record deal under California’s seven-year rule.

The singer signed a five-album deal with Interscope and LVRN in 2017. Interscope argues that she has only delivered three albums: ‘Over It’, ‘Still Over It’ and ‘Finally Over It’, and still owes two. Walker’s lawyers, however, argue that the contract is no longer enforceable after seven years. Interscope filed a lawsuit on October 9, seeking damages that could exceed $50 million.

Summer has not officially been released from the deal yet, as Interscope is challenging her attempt to terminate the contract. Both sides have reportedly expressed openness to an amicable resolution.
