“Uncomfortable”

1st Runner Up at the Choreographers Cup.

To be vulnerable-

I have had a very difficult year in my personal life. I’ve been introduced to feelings, pains, and visceral sensations I previously didn’t know existed.

The movement language of this work is tense, restricted, and uncomfortable. It is to be stuck in your mind and body when that is not a peaceful place to be. It is trying to escape yourself; your thoughts and your skin.

I am lighter after this process. This night and these people are etched into my memory forever.

Thank you to all who connected with the work. That means the world to me.

And yes, she got to choose. And yes, I’m old and pregnant and living vicariously through her. Ha! Can’t believe our summer is almost over! ✌🏼

A final goodbye to my years as a competition dancer. I am so grateful that I got to pour myself fully into this beautiful art form as a young girl, and now as a woman I get to continue that exploration. No matter how much I think I give myself to dance, it will always give me more back. I have learned invaluable lessons and made the most genuine friendships. It is so special to be heard without speaking, and everyday at @summit.danceproject I felt heard.

The many hours I spent in those studios were filled with passion and inspiration. Thank you to all the amazing women who helped me step into myself, including every one of my peers. I will see parts of you in myself forever. @toniablomquist @s.0.y @jaclynweisenbeck @maxiriley

I will always cherish my time as a young dancer and carry these memories with me forever. What a privilege to be able to move!!❣️

Looking back on the past 14 years, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. @summit.danceproject has been so much more than a dance studio. it has been my home away from home.

I’ll always miss watching sunsets through the studio windows, the snow falling during early morning Nutcracker rehearsals, the laughter that filled the hallways, and the quiet nights when I felt overwhelmed by the unconditional love and support that filled every studio.

Without the guidance and encouragement of my teachers, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you, @toniablomquist for your wisdom, @soymakesmoves for your mentorship, @maxiriley for your patience, and @jaclynweisenbeck for always pushing us to be our very best. I can’t thank you all enough for creating a home filled with the love that is Summit Dance Project.

I am endlessly grateful for the relationships I’ve built over the years. I wouldn’t be who I am today without every person who has stepped foot into Summit Dance Project. I will forever be grateful for the impact you have all made on my life ♾️ #SDPFAMILYFOREVER

How lucky am I to have something that is so hard to say goodbye to. I will always be grateful to call Summit my home💛

the end of an era..

I have spent the last 14 years in countless studios, ballrooms, rehersals, and stages and without a doubt I will carry those memories with me through the rest of my life.

@summit.danceproject has been a second home to me for the past 5 years. I am so grateful for my team and the people who have made me who I am today. Cheers to Senior Company ‘26🥂

Thank you to my teachers and mentors, @toniablomquist @s.0.y @maxiriley @_mia_soleil_ @jaclynweisenbeck @alenajordan everything I have a achieved I have to give credit to you. You all are such pillars in my life and have lead me through the years with grace and wisdom. And of course thank you to my parents, without you none of this would have happened.

How lucky am I to have something that is so hard to say goodbye to.

Cheers to many memories made and cheers to the future. 💌

Thank you @artistssimplyhuman for the incredible convention classes and unforgettable memories that have shaped me over the past 8 years. ASH holds some of my first dance memories, so closing out my competitive dance chapter at ASH nationals was the most unforgettable and special week. @summit.danceproject thank you so much for making weeks like this possible and for giving me my sdp family.

To my team, I am so grateful for every win and loss because we never let them define us but rather grew closer during each high and low. I am so proud of you guys for all the amazing things you have done and I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you’re going to accomplish.

and to my mentees, i will never be able to explain to you just how much you shine on and off stage. I am infinitely proud of all of your hard work and so grateful to have seen all of your amazing accomplishments this week. I can wait to see whats ahead of you.
