A year full of so many special memories ✨ celebrated birthdays, bachelorettes, weddings, visited new cities, time spent with family and friends, safe to say 2023 was a great year 💕

I will tell my whole story at some point, but for now the short version.

My story began ten years ago when I tragically lost my dad. At the time, I was writing and recording music with Wyclef Jean and his team in NYC.

About a month after my dad passed away, I built up the strength to force myself back into the studio. I was only there to be with my music family, not to work.

Someone had come in to play new music for the team, someone who had yet to meet me, and yet to learn what I had just been through. This was the first song they played.

Needless to say, after hearing the first 8 words of the song, I broke down into silent tears in front of a room full of hip hop moguls. They put me in the studio to record this song the next day.

This was a huge part of my healing journey, and one we kept to ourselves for personal reasons. Little did I know, 4 years later, it would have meaning again after I lost my brother. Only that time, I was done with music. So I tucked it away.

It surfaced again recently, in my personal life, and I’ve decided that I am ready for the world to hear it. Just a small piece of me in my very large story. This one is for my two boys in heaven 🤍
