I feel like people were mixed on Set The Tone last year, myself included to a degree. There was some stuff I liked a lot and some songs I wasn’t as into for sure. Supreme Clientele 2 has been in the works for a long time and it’s known some of the songs on here are a bit older. So between Set The Tone, all the SC2 buildup and of course Ghosts own hype he deserves, you never know how things will turn out. So let’s see what this we got from this sequel album! . Coming in at 22 songs and only 48 minutes, this feels fast paced and like a flurry of jabs from Ghostdini. Take a breath for a second and you’ll miss a full song. Not that I’m complaining about the pace for this, because Ghostface keeps the energy going and never lets things get dull or stagnant. Along with a bevy of features from some supreme lyricists like Styles P, Method Man, M.O.P., Conway, NEMS and more, Ghost isn’t solo but also never feels overpowered by these features either. . Filled with soulful sounds and boom bap beats, the production here really shined. Tracks had a feel that was classic and modern and stretched across music but still came together cohesively. There’s a couple of funny skits throughout that you’ve gotta enjoy to some degree at least. And Ghost sounds experienced yet fresh, I don’t hear dulling on Tony Starks lyrical blade. Some of my favorite tracks here are Curtis May, 4th Disciple, Windows, Georgy Porgy, Break Beats, Rap Kingpin, The Trial & Love Me Anymore, obviously there’s a lot of great tracks here lol. . I was never worried about this album but I would say it ended up exceeding what expectations I seemed to have had for Supreme Clientele 2. I try not to get overly hyped for sequel albums anyway as I get older, but I think for 2025, this was a submission to the sequel albums we’ve been getting that deserved to be made. Personally I think this might be my favorite Mass Appeal release of the year, which is saying something. And possibly my favorite Ghostface album since Sour Soul. . . . #album #review #albumreview #ghostfacekillah #supremeclientele2 #supremeclientele #hiphop #rap #mop #stylesp #conway #raekwon #methodman #wutang #nems #newyork
