RBXA Day 10 Recap

We started day 10 in Zernez in Engadin with an early morning hike & glide towards Austria 🇨🇭➡️🇦🇹
Another hike and we were ready for the flight towards TP 14 @lermoos_tirol.

The forcast was quite strong wind from west/north west, but we talked to some locals who said wind from those directions should be fine.
In the air the wind was ok to handle and the conditions seemed quite good 🪂 When we arrived in Oberinntal the wind came spilling over the mountains from the north, and the conditions got quite difficult.
I made some bad choices and just missed one thermal to get to Lermoos, and bombed out 10 km from the turnpoint..

I was a bit bummed out, but in order to not miss too much of the flyable part of the day we quickly headed up for another takeoff 🏃 I had a fast flight down to Lermoos, where I was surprised by a bunch of norwegian friends who cheered me on! 🇧🇻 That really made my day and got my energy back up.
Another quick hike and a low takeoff made it possible to tag TP15 Zugspitze quickly and head towards the last turnpoint, Schmittenhöhe.
It was getting late and the thermals were starting to turn off, so my planned crossing over the Karwendel nature park ended in the middle of the beautiful mountains there, but luckily my supporters arranged for the hut @halleranger_alm to leave me dinner and a place to sleep 🍖🙏

This day got better than we feared, and still with a silly mistake we managed to cover quite a lot of ground.
