Krista & Cassie out on the rim in Moab, UT There are some relationships that don’t really fit into words, and I think the bond we share with our dogs is one of them. They become woven into every chapter of our lives without us even realizing it. Getting to photograph that kind of love is something I never take for granted because sessions like this aren’t just beautiful photos of you and your dog, they’re about preserving your relationship exactly as it exists right now. Familiar routines, favorite places, and all the love that’s built over years together. A small collection of years for us, that fills their entire life. It’s such an honor to be invited into something so personal, and to create photographs that will only become more meaningful with time 🌞🏜️

A client told me the other day they didn’t recognize me from my profile photo and honestly… fair. Five years will do that. So I figured maybe it’s time for a little reintroduction. Hi. I’m Maddi 👋 I got the nickname Daddi while living in my college town in a house with 5 other girls. They lovingly called me Daddy because I would mow the lawn, change lightbulbs, fix things— the type of shit your dad might do if you had one around. I first registered my DBA as Daddi Tatts in 2021 as a joke. It was meant to be a placeholder until I came up with something “more professional,” but I never did—and that suits me just right. I was raised by a tough-as-dirt, do-it-yourself Montana woman. It made me stubborn, competitive, scrappy, and a go-getter. I talk a lot. I care a lot. I cry easily. I love to make people laugh. I collect hobbies faster than I can finish them. I’ll try almost anything once. I love being outside. Lately it’s fly fishing and disc golf, but volleyball will always be my first love. I adore my partner, Stephen, and our two babies, Hunk & Nugget. I love tattooing, but even more than that, I love the connections. So many of you have become real friends. I carry your stories with me and genuinely wonder how you’re doing. Sharing your triumphs and heartbreaks, complaining about the cruelty of the world and also sitting in its beauty— that’s my favorite part of this job. Last fall, after a traumatic medical event and the lowest season of my life, I had to look at how much of myself I was giving away. I poured until my cup was empty and learned that my work can’t be my whole identity, no matter how much I love it. These days I’m choosing something different: more presence, more time with the people I love, and being intentional with my energy. I’m still proud of what I do and deeply grateful… I’m just not centering my life around it anymore. You might not see as much of me here, and that’s okay. I’m still here. Still tattooing. Still caring deeply! Right now, I feel happy, present, and damn lucky 🍀 And that feels like enough. Thank you for supporting me as an artist and a human for all these years. I appreciate y’all more than you know ❤️

Woweeee! Lots of big changes happened this year for us but through it all we are so grateful for our incredible clients and community that continue to show up and make Witch of the West the wonderful, queer, safe, cozy place that it is. To a 2026 filled with all those things and more! 🌈🌙✨
