The International Selkirk Loop is one of North America’s most beautiful drives—and the only international scenic loop in the United States. 🌎 This 280-mile journey winds through the rugged Selkirk Mountains, connecting the Idaho Panhandle, British Columbia, and Washington State, with endless stops for hiking, wildlife, small-town charm, and lakeside views.

Here are a few of my favorite stops along the way:

🚗 Sandpoint, Idaho
A lakeside gem you cannot skip. Start your morning at The Bluebird Café (the cinnamon rolls… trust me), grab a craft beer at the Idaho Pour Authority, and end the day with dinner at 113 Main. If you need to stretch your legs, Pine Street Woods is perfect for a quiet walk among the pines.

🚗 Bonners Ferry, Idaho
Take a peaceful walk through the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, where moose, eagles, and deer roam, then spend the night at the historic Northside Schoolhouse B&B—a truly unique stay.

🇨🇦 Creston, British Columbia
Once you cross the border, slow down for wine tasting at Red Bird Winery and grab some classic Canadian poutine at one of the local spots downtown. Then hop the free ferry across Kootenay Lake toward Nelson.

🇨🇦 Nelson, BC
A vibrant mountain town filled with outdoor adventure—hiking, mountain biking, lake time—and a downtown dotted with dozens of murals, cafés, and craft eateries.

The Selkirk Loop is one of those road trips that blends nature, culture, and small-town magic all in one go. Save this for your next northern road adventure!

Sometimes it's easy to stay homebound during the winter season- cozy clothes, fur baby cuddles, the warmth of home comfort. It all speaks oh so well to me🙋‍♀️

But this weekend, My husband talked me into going out for a end of week happy hour @idahopourauthority - the evening did not disappoint! The energy was vibrate with so much community support, laughter, conversations & holiday cheers spread across each table. Super cool to get to see one of my dad's best buds, Sandy Compton, and listen to his real life Yellowstone stories and then bump into our buddy and fellow realtor @idaho_will 🎄 also a tip on the hat to our long time Ivano's Server and now @idahopourauthority bartender @sunnysideorbust 👌
